My Rooster Cake

"Today I made my first homemade cake from scratch! It was a family recipe for pound cake. I used 2/3 cup shortening, 2/3 cup milk, flour, baking powder, sugar, lemon extract, salt, and eggs. I also added a secret ingredient. It has to bake for along time. I drew a rooster for our design. It had 7 colors! We put some strawberry jam in between the layers and iced the rooster. We added grass with green frosting. It turned out so cute and my daddy said it was 'Fantastic'!"
